This week the Boca Beacon honored local veterans, past and present. Here are some of their stories. Lt. Col. John S. Flickinger , UMSMC, otherwise known as “Flick,” enlisted in the Marine Corps in January of 1941 and served combat duty in WWII in the Pacific Theater in 1943 -1944 as a fighter and dive bomber pilot.
Anthony Todaro covered 11,400 miles on his motorcycle last year traveling from Aspen to the Arctic Circle and back. He will give a slide-show presentation at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies.
